Ride Design Team | Gator Theme Park Engineering & Design

The TPED Ride Design Team is the first and only team at UF focused on engineering theme park rides. Our projects bring together students from different disciplines to Engineer & Design a ride completely from scratch!

LATEST PROJECT

Last year, the Ride Design Team developed a flat ride! This ride was in the style of Dumbo with an added TPED twist - riders can push a button to make the vehicle flip upside down like a hamster wheel.

MECHANICAL TEAM

The Mechanical team is divided into the Ride Vehicle, Rotational Base, and Arms subgroups. Each group is working on developing the mechanics for each component by creating 3D models, documenting standards, and eventually 3D printing the parts!

The Controls team is focusing on the programming aspect of the ride and is working on creating and documenting the ride's control systems. This includes load/unload conditions, normal operations, emergency stops, and a game component!
